The Story Behind ClubArtisans and ExpatFairs
Everyone has their struggles in the business world. The key to overcoming these obstacles, helping and lifting each other is what drives Betty’s ClubArtisans. Here’s the story.
Betty and her family settled in Hong Kong after making their way from Vietnam and China. From then on, Betty was already digging her heels in helping her father run provisional shops in the people-packed, proliferated walkways of Hong Kong.
Her razor-sharp business acumen, friendly disposition, and positive outlook saw her leading the regional operations and expansion for IKEA for over a decade.
Helping the Artisan Community
ClubArtisans.net was born out of Betty’s desire to bridge the divide between passionate artisans from all over the world and offer them a platform to showcase their products all under one roof. Her efforts are all in the name of sharing the love for making a positive environmental impact and contributing towards a more sustainable small-business community.
Driven by her passion to help people, especially women (but not exclusively) who are keen to move their businesses forward in a competitive environment, she wakes up motivated.
Being in business was not just about making massive profits. It was also about seizing opportunities, making friends and connecting with the community. Her early years became the launching pad for ClubArtisans.net.
She believes that with a sustainable business model, we can help each other grow and reach out to more people and shoppers who appreciate quality, premium artisan products. With her decades-long experiences, she has been bridging the divide between traditional businesses between the online and online world.
The Success of ExpatFairs
Betty Ashman’s vision came to life with the initiation of The Expat Fairs in 2008. It organizes physical fairs that connect consumers with elegant tastes and talented independent artisans from all over the world.
